-SPEAKING AND SINGING FOR THE SOUL OF ISLAM-
As I’ve gotten to know the many beautiful people of faiths and their teachings, I have come to learn of our common principals of peace, justice, humility, and that we are truly ONE humanity, all praying to the same God in our different ways.
Here's a 'live' performance of "In My Soul" at the Royal Library, Denmark.
And, I now write for HuffingtonPost!
I have three CDs published. To purchase them please visit:
LATEST CD: Islamic Hymns - Celebration of Life (release date August 14th, 2012)
Islamic Hymns is a new music genre. In this collection titled "Celebration of Life" these Islamic worship and devotional songs are for the first time written and arranged in the Western classical scale with vocals in the choral arrangement much like church choirs. The lyrics are in English, adapted from a verse in the Quran, Prophet Muhammad's favorite prayer, and from famous Muslim poets such as Rumi and Rabia al Basri. It is the first collection of religious works that is American and Muslim.
*Traditionally Islamic religious songs are in Eastern and Middle Eastern languages with musical styles heavily influenced by Eastern scales.
